PRODUCT INFORMATION

SKIN WHITENING is a product that eliminates skin hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is an alteration in the normal skin coloration that results in the appearance of darker areas compared to the surrounding skin. This phenomenon coincides with an increased production of melanin in the basal layer of the epidermis, which, as it advances to the surface, creates unwanted skin blemishes. Contains ascorbic acid, succinic acid, and arbutin in an alkaline environment.

Ascorbic acid:

• As a reducing agent, it acts on melanin intermediates, blocking oxidative reactions of melanogenesis at various levels.

• As an antioxidant, it directly reduces the effects of oxygen free radicals, the main culprits of damage leading to hyperpigmentation.

Succinic acid:

• As a reducing agent, it converts dark melanin to a lighter form.

• It reduces the effect of oxygen needed for the function of tyrosinase in melanin formation.

• As an antioxidant, it directly and indirectly reduces the effects of oxygen free radicals, also due to increased intracellular antioxidants.

• Additionally, it acts as a chelator, blocking tyrosinase function by chelating the copper present in the enzyme’s active site.

Arbutin:

• A derivative of hydroquinone that inhibits melanin synthesis, resulting in a depigmenting effect.
